Greenland Whales
Photographing Whales in Greenland
I took these photos when I was travelling in a small boat close to Ilulissat in Greenland. The main purpose of this photo project was to support the research of the Institute of Natural Resources in Greenland. The Institute tracks down the whales and maintains a record. The back of the whale tail is unique and acts as their identification point. Therefore, I focused on photographing their whale tail as well as the GPS of the boat. This information was provided to the Institute which proceeded with updating their records of the whale population, kind and unique identity.
