Neli (invisible disabilities)
This document is the long term project about everyday moments in Neli's life. Life with autism...
Neli is the 7-year-old girl. She lives in a small town near to the Brno, Czech Republic. For the first meet you don’t see nothing wrong. But she has one big disability. Autism. During whole years back, all disabilities, physical seen, were photographed. But for me is the big challenge to document day to day difficulties in family life if you have autism.
This is the long term project. We would like to cooperate for next five to ten years. I will be with Neli at home, at kindergarten, at school, during her nice moments and during her bad times too. Because here are thousands people with autism in Czech Republic. And millions all around the World. Everyone of them are the same PEOPLE as me or you. And all what they need is to understand them and help them. Help their families and prepare a better future for them. That’s the main reason, why am I taking my photos. Because of that you can see those moments. One minute is everything nice and great and during the second minute is it the worst time in their life. I will be cooperating with profesionals, BCBA. ABA therapeutists, Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno members and the most important – with Neli, her parents, her asistants, her family. That’s all from me. I’m here to take pictures. Neli’s mother will speak to me and write it too about their everyday opinions. Why? To help other mothers and fathers and families to keep calm and healthy on their minds and prepare better lifes for their children.
