Mussel Broth
The rise in sea water temperature due to climate change is seriously affecting marine ecosystems
Climate change and global warming are phenomena that are drastically changing our planet. Rising temperatures and altered weather patterns are having a significant impact globally.
Therefore, Galicia (North of Spain), is not free from this problem and a direct example of this can be seen on the coast, where said climate change and the increase in sea water temperature are affecting the ecosystems and therefore also the local production systems; among others, mussel farming in the estuaries.
Concern in the mussel sector is increasing due to a situation in which high temperatures, among other conditions such as changes in precipitation and winds or the growing phenomenon of acidification, can weaken the mussel and affect its reproduction and growth.
