"Seraphim Light" is a project centered around capturing the creative endeavors at "Ferma de Arta," The Art Farm near Suceava, Romania, owned by the Zidaru Family—Marian and Victoria Zidaru. The Photographs document the Summer School activities held in August 2023, portraying a harmonious community experience. Daily activities, including communal dining, collaborative art creation, and shared prayers, contributed to a spiritually enriching environment.
"Seraphim Light" is a Project Documenting the creative endeavors taking place at "Ferma de Arta", The Art Farm that is near Suceava, Romania. This unique haven belongs to the Zidaru Family, namely Marian and Victoria Zidaru both born in 1956, along with their dedicated apprentice of almost over four decades, Dan Sandu born in 1967. This family is a trio of artists who find their artistic expression as a form of worship to God.
For years, I had yearned to visit "Ferma de Arta" ever since I first crossed paths with Marian and Victoria a couple of years ago in Bucharest, Romania. They graciously opened their workshops to everyone, and from the very moment I met them, I sensed an extraordinary purity about them. Their distinctiveness intrigued my inquisitive nature, prompting me to learn more about their story. It was then that I discovered the heartbreaking loss they had endured, their only son taken from them at a tender age. The pain they must have felt is unimaginable, a trial no parent should ever face.
In the face of such tragedy, people can either be consumed by bitterness and resent the world or find solace in a deeper connection with their faith. As I've come to know them better, I've realized that their serene spirits and pure energy have been forged through immense sacrifice. I've never encountered individuals quite like Marian and Victoria. Their unselfish desire to give back to all those they encounter is profoundly moving. They are, at their core, genuinely good-hearted people, driven by a sincere desire to help others.
I had the privilege of documenting the activities present during the Summer School in August 2023, hosted in their residence in Suceava, fondly referred to as The Art Farm.
From the moment we woke up, our days were filled with togetherness, forming a harmonious community. We dined as a collective, created Art in unison and we Prayed together. The culmination of the Summer School was marked by an exhibition.
