Toy story
Conservation of rainforest and orangutans
Static plastic orangutan. Pretty boring toy, sold in boring souvenir shops, along with a pile of fluffy soft monkeys and other animals. Even kids rarely pay attention. When the toy is alive though, hanging around in the zoo, it seems more engaging, but worth only taking pictures. An object, transported from a pristine rainforest in a metal cage. Not really comfortable, but who cares for the toy’s feelings?
But when you come to the rainforest as a guest, a visitor, suddenly you discover that an orangutan is not a toy anymore. It’s a human-like being, that can play, love and enjoy life to its fullest.
So why don’t go on a journey to the real forest, the journey that might make you more compassionate and empathic to nature and wild animals?
