Especially in public hospitals, the birth took place in the solitude of these borders.


Waiting rooms, outside the wards, limited to avoid crowds. Opaque glasses, closed doors, masks that punctually made the sentences difficult to understand. Swabs at the entrance of each new parturient, with some positive cases that further congested the maternity ward.

Fleeting glances, greetings and smiles exchanged through portions of opaque film scratched off the glass that aseptically divided the families.

The only way to stay in eye contact is mobile phones and video calls, the leitmotif of the whole pandemic.
