8 Hours
What is the local working class doing at work? The series "8 hours" gives an intimate glimpse into the everyday life on swiss construction sites.
07.00 am: A mixture of burnt plastic, cigarette smoke, coffee, construction noise,
foreign swearwords, sweat and dreams of lottery millions...
„8 Hours“ is a tragic-comical confrontation with the daily life of the local working class. For three years, the autor documented his own days as an electrician at various Swiss construction sites.
The photo series aims to show this world where numbers are more important than human beings, in which flings, cars, jail terms and home ownership are common topics of conversation to get through the day a little faster and easier – all while building up the dreams of others.
