KASHMIR - THE ILLUSION OF DREAM

"KASHMIR - THE ILLUSION OF DREAM" is a photographic work over several years that aims to return a portrait of Sringar, a city at the center of the India-Pakistan conflict for the independence of Kashmir.

"The dream of independence is a death angel for Kashmiri people".
This is one of the most common phrases of the Kashmiris who dream of independence. The Kashmir conflict refers to the dispute between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region, a dispute that has resulted in armed confrontations several times in a continuous ups and downs. In Kashmir, today the independence cause, with its controversial Azadi sentiment, appears to be asleep, but in reality it continues to be a mine always ready to explode.
The armed struggle, crushed by a massive Indian army intervention, has become a marginal issue, while the 2008-2010 street riots again haven't brought any political results.
Everything in Srinagar seems motionless today but if you mention the independence issue to anyone, he will quickly warm up and tell you that the Azadi feeling is alive and that it will never die.
