The Memory of Palestine.

Portraits of Palestinian women and men surviving the Nabka (Catastrofe), expulsion from Palestine, where they were born, by the Israeli army. Women and men who have been living in refugee camps in Beirut, Lebanon for more than 70 years.

It has been more than 70 years since Nabka (the "Catastrophe"), when about 800,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their land by the newly formed army of the State of Israel. In the refugee camps of Beirut, Lebanon, some of those women and men, atthe time young, teenagers or children remember and tell heir sad and dramatic past. When in a few days they passed from a life of almost always wealthy farmers or ealers, to an existence of refugees in the degraded reality of the Lebanese refugee camps.
Now few and old, they represent the “Memory of Palestine”, living monuments that tell a story often denied or forgotten but no less true and current, that of the Palestinian people and their denied rights.
