Triana Sevilla

A series of photographs captured in 2016 while walking through the Triana district of Seville.

In September 2016 the Triana district of Seville, Spain, was preparing for the 750th Anniversary of the founding of the local church, Santa Ana Parish. Along the streets, the dominant visual element of these efforts were white flowers, composed of bright white plastic, which were being strung in garlands to form an overhead decoration to lead the way the the church. The contrasts between the people who were engaged in this effort and the passers-by, both presumably visitors as well as uninvolved residents of the district, provided a second element to the visual tableau available to be captured photographically.
