First and solemn communion in the orphanage in Haiti

This is about the celebration of the communion in Haiti

This series was made at the orphanage Saint-Joseph Ouvrier de Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye where I stayed for a while.
The celebration of the first and solemn communion is very important in Haiti. Everybody is looking forward and the children are, for this occasion, nicely dressed. The priest comes from the village to the orphanage, some neighbors are invited. One particular space of the orphanage is decorated with balloons, white sheets and plants.

The poverty under Haitian children is just horrible and very confrontational.
The children on the photos have at least two meals a day and a bed to sleep in.
