Judith Wermter – iPhone Photography / App Art

Judith Wermter lives and works in the Ruhr area in Germany. After working on classic photography for many years, she specialized and reduced herself exclusively to iPhone Photography / App Art five years ago and discovered the best expression of her art.

Here she works with a special app. This creates a retro effect that is comparable to photography on film in the sense of the vintage art. The artist does not see the resulting effect while looking through the viewfinder of the camera and has to wait for the moment until the pictures are „developed“ digitally. There is no subsequent possibility of image manipulation in this process.

The selected works by Judith Wermter reveal three preferences of her motif selection: perspectives, structures and reflections, that she applies especially during her travels through Germany. The composition usually has a strict arrangement. The subjective perception in combination with the alienation effect determines the effect of her art. The artist combines modern technology with traditional analogue photography – new with the past.
