- In Casentino, lungo la riva destra del fiume Arno e ad un chilometro da Borgo alla Collina, percorrendo una strada bianca ea tratti lastricata, si giunge ad una casa colonica, ma ad uno sguardo più attento si nota un campanile, è l'oratorio di Sant'Agata ad Orgi. Anticamente fu luogo di pellegrinaggi e processioni per scongiurare alluvioni e propiziare buoni raccolti; successivamente ha subito un lento declino a causa della secolarizzazione e del progressivo allontanamento dalla vita religiosa. Rimasto chiuso per un lungo periodo, negli ultimi anni tre monaci dell’ordine Cistercense, ridottisi poi a due, che tutt’oggi abitano nella colonica, hanno chiesto di poter usufruire di questi luoghi e così li hanno ristrutturati. L’ordine dei Cistercensi vive seguendo la regola di San Benedetto “Ora et labora”, e i frati osservano fedelmente la “regola” che scandisce la loro giornata. Sveglia alle due del mattino con le Lodi al Signore, ossia canti gregoriani che si protraggono per quattro ore. Poi alle sei la SS Messa fino alle sette quando comincia il lavoro. Seguendo il ritmo delle stagioni c'è il lavoro nei campi, la raccolta della legna, le pulizie e poi ciò che impegna la maggior parte della loro giornata: la traduzione e riscrittura di testi sacri dall'aramaico, dal greco o dal cirillico in modo che non vadano perse importanti testimonianze e riflessioni filosofiche, proprio come facevano gli antichi amanuensi solo che oggi assistiamo ad uno “strano” connubio con la tecnologia. Nella loro giornata è prevista solo una sosta per l’unico pasto che è rappresentato da frutta e verdura; poi ricominciano lo studio fino alle cinque del pomeriggio. Dalle cinque alle sei c’è il vespro che sancisce la fine della giornata dopodichè vanno a letto, perché il nuovo giorno comincia alle due del mattino.

Left closed for a long period, in the last years three monks of the Cistercian order, then reduced to two, who still live in the farmhouse, have asked to be able to take advantage of these places and so they have restructured them. The Cistercian order lives according to the rule of St. Benedict "Ora et labora", and the friars faithfully observe the "rule" that marks their day. Wake up at two in the morning with the Lauds to the Lord, or Gregorian chants that yes they last for four hours. Then at six o'clock the SS Mass until seven o'clock when the work begins. Following the rhythm of the seasons there is the work in the fields, the collection of wood, the cleaning and then what commits most of their day: the translation and rewriting of sacred texts from Aramaic, Greek or Cyrillic in that important testimonies and philosophical reflections are not lost, just as the ancient scribes did only today we witness a "strange" union with technology. In their day there is only a stop for the only meal that is represented by fruits and vegetables; then they start the study again until five in the afternoon.
