Hidden poverty in Tokyo

Japan, despite being the world's third largest economy, has a rising problem of poverty that deeply contrasts with the popular prosperity and urban opulence of its metropolis.

Poverty figures are very hard to find in Japan because of its reputation as a developed country, it is generally assumed that the levels of poverty are relatively low.

However several media reports contrast this and the homeless peopleface obstacles when it comes to getting support from the government.

Although they would qualify for welfare, homeless people can’t apply if they don’t have the required documentation.

The great part of homeless live ignored and neglected by the people: they are seen as a sort of national shame for the country and receive no assistance.

This report would witness this hidden issue, focusing the attention in a moment of great investments in view of the of the next Olympics game in 2020 inTokyo.

My intention is to come back in Tokyo next to the Olympics game in order to register differences and modifications in the everyday approach with this issue.
