The colors of the spectrum

The purpose of this project is to present some themes about Autism through a photographic reportage. During six months I’ve been spending time with persons aged between 9 and 50 afflicted with Autism Spectrum disorders and Asperger. I documented their ludic and didactic activities carried out with educators and I have been with these persons during their daily life together with their families.

Moreover, I have been living with them during a weekend in a mountain hut, on hills behind Genoa, where they were learning to take part together in some activities and share emotions : so I’ve understood that each of them is different and unique thanks to his diversity.

By knowing them a bit deeply I have seen peaceful smiles, I experienced their hugs, I‘ve heard heartrending screams and I’ve discovered a kind of special world in their eyes.

Autism is a different way of life, it is a world that everybody should know to understand that, often, you can find the most important things in the simplest things.
