warm feet + warm hearts
For a lot of kids in Romania shoes are not a matter of course. Although winters in Romania are bitterly cold, a lot of children don't have warm shoes and some even are shoeless. During christmas time 2013 we went to some of the poorest villages in Romania and presented the kids and their families with shoes and other gifts. We got warmly welcomed from the people there. They invited us to their homes and even shared their last bread with us. It was really moving to see how happy, thankful and generous these people were despite the fact that they own very little. It really opened my eyes to all the blessings and reasons to be thankful for in my life. It also encouraged me to give with the same generosity as experienced.
