Just A Small Town

Kuruman is a small town situated in a dry and desert area of Northern Cape (South Africa), known to be rich in mines, especially of manganese and iron. Despite the richness which the mines produce, the surrounding rural areas are poor and the local people still struggle to get a job and sustain themselves. These photographs are a life glimpse of this community in which the young people dream to find a better future outside the region and the only means of entertainment is alcohol or drug.
