"Papa" and the staircase of the Centre Pompidou

José Luis Puche, an artist from Malaga with his own trade mark, is considered one of the most promising emerging artist worldwide. Nonetheless, he was one of the 50 final contestants in the 2014 `Emergent Artist Awards´, awards that recognize international young talent. Amongst his most recent accomplishments, 2 art pieces for the ´9 hours underground´ exhibition at the Sydney Opera House and another 2 at the Istanbul contemporary arts fair. And his latest art work called “Papá”, subject of this feature, a magnificent art piece exposed on the Pompidou Art Museum´s staircase in Málaga, from February until October 2017.

The following feature begins from the very first initial moments of the piece until the final artist´s interaction with the audience as they parade on the staircase. Its black and white theme, emulates José Luis Puche´s watery and washy coal work itself. There´s only colorful key, Buenasuerte´s eyes, which reflects the artist nostalgia towards his beloved pet which passed away during the piece´s making process. The uneven feature´s format adapts in a dynamic way and interacts with the artist and his work.
