WINTER IS COMING

Winter is Coming is about a particular mood, a quiet state of stillness and waiting right before the coming of the winter season among the nomad families in one of the coldest areas on Earth, Northern Mongolia. Everything seems to wait for this long period of sleep and hibernation: land, animals and people. As their ancestors in this moment of the year, most of the families have reached the winter pastures, some are still on their way.The strenght and patient wisdom of this people is shown through an intimate view of their daily activities, a slow proceeding in preparation of this cyclical transformation, the coming of the Big Cold, a long freezing winter that usually reach -40/-50 c°. In Winter is Coming, i felt this strong emotional state blowing through the eternal steppe wind, an allegorical closeness to death, and everything is pervaded by a peaceful awareness of it, but always looking forward to the next birth, of Man and Nature.
