Mopeds rule the Island

Scooters, mopeds and Vespas speed away all along Leipsoi, a small Greek Island ruled by the Aegean light.

Initially a nuisance to the tourist's ears, during the holiday they become the landcape's companions, speeding towards touristic destinations or working places, melting with sun, beaches, sea, rocks, flashing white walls, votive chapels and horizons.

The natural beauty of the place is populated by these speeding ghosts. Ghosts in metal, flesh and bones, but undefined, elusive, whose driving existence is a presence but an inconsistency at the same time, almost melting into astonishing beauty of the ever present nature.

Every moped has its driver, whose name is the title of each photo.
