In the Western Wall

The Wailing Wall is the most sacred place for the Jewish religion as it is all that remains of the ancient temple of Jerusalem destroyed in AD 70 ..
For the Jews, the Wall is also a place of prayer, even of daily life, since it is the very life that is being marked by prayer and all religious rituals: and then they go to the Wall during the day, even more times , to pray, to talk about religion, to meet.
Prayer is a ritual that is repeated every day, for both men and women; many of the prayers are written in sheets left in the wall slits: there are millions.
Prayer is characterized by a frantic swinging.
The rules to pray are those of orthodox Judaism: men and women must remain separate and only men are allowed to wear tefillin (the black boxes containing parchment rolls on which are written verses of the Torah), prayer shawls, and Kippah, and intonate prayer songs; women are also forbidden to touch the sacred texts on the Wall, as well as being prohibited from leading a prayer.
Access to the Wall for Women continues to be a thorny theme today, and it is evident that it is not just about space, smaller for women, and bigger for men.
The Women of the Wall movement, born in 1988 (WOW), has been battling for years for women to have the same rights to pray to the wall of tears and the same men's rituals, breaking down the dividing wall that divides them.
