Varosha - a Cypriot ghost town
Since Turkish tanks rolled into Varosha, the southern district of Famagusta, Cyprus, back in August 1974, this one-time vacation magnet has been one of the world’s largest ghost towns. Now though, talks between the north and south of Cyprus have restarted, and there has been efforts to include a peace deal in the EU/Turkey agreement to stem the flow of refugees.
