A Dacha State of Mind

The Russian dacha is more than simply a house or a plot of land.
This is a journey back into an atmosphere familiar from my childhood to explore the dacha state of mind.

The dacha is a space in-between. Neither town nor country. It goes beyond a summer dwelling.
It is a mentality, an institution - one that has been growing since the 17th century, survived all the crises
Russia has been through, and is still an essential part of Russian culture and society.
In the small universe of the dacha people enter this state of in-between: The daily struggle put on pause.
