The Manila Project

No one should be eating another person's garbage, especially not children, many whose families were lured by the bright lights of Manila and the promises of a better future. Many more arriving each day from the provinces with grand dreams but ending up leading marginal lives, scratching a living by doing menial tasks or picking through the garbage dumps for recyclable items for subsistence wages and living in squatter communities in these areas. These 8 images are a small part of the project in which highlights the living conditions of the people living among the dead in the Navotas Cemetery and in the Smokey Mountain dumpsite. In particular, these 8 images highlight the children living, working and playing in these communities.
