Here; Remote

On my way through the Glarnerland, along an industrial path I'm beginning in the very last village in
the remotest valley. Finding my path along the water, which was and still is crucial for industrial activity,
I encounter stunning industrial buildings, some partly still operating, others abandoned and delapidated.
Workers' settlement near the main city have been transformed into luxury apartments whereas the
most isolated ones are to serve as accommodation for refugees.
Recent undertakings to revitalize economy have brought new domestic and international industry to
this region. On the other hand the impact of migration and immigration is visible on the level of landscape
as well as specific industrial sectors.

I am interested in the remains of a historical past, which people still try to maintain by finding new ways of survival in a hostile and remote environment.
