Children of Ngorongoro

The photographs are part of the volunteer humanitarian mission with an aid association for relief work with the Masai tribes of National Park Ngorongoro in Tanzania.

The project was fund raising for the scholarship of Ngorongoro children.

For the duration of the mission in Sendui primary school i captured hard moments of Masai kids.

Children could not be focused on the classroom work, they were waiting for the lunch break

While the children were at school, I was talking to a cook whose kitchen is in a small house next to the school. The kitchen is an unusually dark space where he was cooking a usual meal – corn mash. Suddenly I heard a strange noise and I ran out of the kitchen just to see the crowd. Actually, there were about 300 pupils who were pushing each other and trying to be the first ones to taste their everyday meal. Also there was their teacher with a stick who was yelling at them and sending them back to the line.

After the school i was attending a tribe ceremony and sharing some food with the Masai chief , at one moment i saw one of the boys from the school standing in the rain like hypnotised, i'm still not sure was it about the food or about the white man in the village. The Masai chief would not let me to share my food with the kid, he told me the kids need to show respect to the older one, so i grab my camera i made the photograph.
