Parkour practitioners in Jerusalem's Old City

Jerusalem, Israel. Young Palestinians in Jerusalem practice parkour, the death-defying sport born in the Parisian banlieues, which combines gymnastics, acrobatics, running and jumping. Parkour is driven by the philosophy that one can overcome obstacles and boundaries just using one’s body.

The urban fabric of Jerusalem’s Old City naturally became a playground through which the athlets move fluidly, using only their bodies. Recently, an informal open course was offered to children starting at age 7. The group trains in different spots of the city several times a week.

Most of the practitioners are self-thought, through online movies and documentaries.
