Blue Lagoon - Iceland (2013)
A turquoise oasis lost in a black rocks desert - Tourists come from all over the world to taste those sulphurous waters of the Blue Lagoon. Some arrive directly from the airport to make their first stop here on this Icelandic piece of earth - certainly a destination that cannot be overlooked.
The soft heated water invites oneself to surrender in this cottony liquid. Movements slow down – everything is idleness. As if a colourant had been spread out - blue tones change according to daylight. Heads remain on the surface, some made up with a white silica mask.
A water park where it is also possible to order a drink to take away from an aquatic bar. What a privilege to savour a cold Viking beverage in a 37°C water… In one hand, a beer ; in the other hand, a Smartphone carefully wrapped in a plastic bag.
Yet Icelandic people try to avoid this touristic place as much as possible; they prefer much more to relax in hot spots of public swimming pools - a weekly event.
An artificial lake in a mineral background -it deals with a strange aesthetical composition of beings in swimsuits having bath in a pool without boundaries like a supernatural microcosm setting up in this no man’s land.
