Femme objet
In an image-based society, women are still predominately represented as objects, pushing for consumption. With this series, we are willing to share our photo-choregraphic thoughts on how the “woman-object” tries to get rid of this reductive and imposing image. Encouraging viewers to reflect on how hard it can be for women, in spite of their recently-acquired freedom, to move away from this absurd representation.
Unity of time, place and action, down to the framing of the photograph: the dancer improvises and struggles, letting her skin go to return to a raw state. The camera freezes the instant and captures this quest.
