Reflections

This photographic project wishes to emphasize on some women’s gaze. Women who, in their everyday life, fight to make themselves present in their own way. Each of whom, at the moment of being photographed, was going through significant changes in her life. For some of them, their fight is still going on, for others it is now over.

With this series, I wish to highlight the beauty, the strength, the security and insecurity, the love, the fear, the dedication, the tiredness that any woman may feel at some point in her life. It also shows a part of a social construction: realities in which they act as social actors as well as spectators in a determined space and moment in time.

Capturing these faces through the mean of photography allows us to see other ways of expressing, and getting closer to, different social realities in which we may recognize ourselves and respect each other as women.

These are women from different horizons who managed, with many or few opportunities, to make their way whether in the public or in their private space. Faces which become reflections of thousands of women and which therefore invite reflection on each of these situations.
