Cortez Fishing Village is the last authentic fishing village left in Florida. Located along the gulf coast, this historic fishing village is run and operated by generations of families that sustain themselves and our communities through fishing. The dedication, perseverance, and love of the way of life keeps families fishing and living on the island of Cortez. Their craft is learned and passed down through generations of hard work and love of the sea. I am inspired by their simplicity and the beauty of the island, boats and fish.
