Women's Energy

Il lavoro Women’s Energy è un progetto in progress in cui mi sono concentrata sul tema delle emozioni e della sensibilità del mondo femminile. Il mio desiderio è di raccogliere nel tempo un’enciclopedia di donne sempre più ampia. A ogni modella chiedo di posare nei luoghi intimi della propria abitazione e di rivivere un’emozione o provare una sensazione legata a un determinato tema. Sono 5 pose per ciascuna modella: a ogni domanda corrisponde il medesimo luogo della casa, mentre chiedo al soggetto di vestirsi in base alla sensazione suscitata dalla mia domanda.

Davanti allo specchio in bagno (nuda, in accappatoio, in reggiseno, etc come vuoi) chiedo: "che sensazione provi nel considerare che tu sei contenuta nel corpo riflesso allo specchio, che nell’atto del guardarsi allo specchio sei contemporaneamente il soggetto e l’oggetto?"

Molto raramente ci fermiamo a osservare veramente noi stessi. Quando ci soffermiamo a guardarci intensamente, può avvenire un'improvvisa realizzazione che non siamo soltanto il corpo che stiamo osservando e possiamo percepire anche la parte di noi che sta vedendo se stessa. Oltre alle nostre forme corporee, possiamo così sperimentare un momento di epifania.

ENGLISH:

"Women's Energy" is an open project aiming to represent female emotions and sensitivity. I asked my subjects to pose in intimate spaces in their homes and then asked them questions which prompted the women to relive specific memories and emotions. The questions were invoked in specific locations: I shoot 5 poses for each model and I ask her to wear something as the emotion aroused inspires her.

One of the question is in front of the bathroom mirror, "What do you feel as you contemplate yourself, contained in your own body, at once the subject and the object of your glimpse?"

Very rarely do we stop and look at ourselves and reflect. Looking deeply at ourselves, we can come to the sudden realization that we are not only a flesh-and-blood body; we may feel that there is also a part that is watching itself. Beyond our corporeal forms, we can experiment with moments of epiphany.
