Enlightenment

Enlightenment - a European intellectual movement of the late 17th and 18th centuries emphasizing reason and individualism rather than tradition. It followed the scientific revolution. It was also Eurocentric and male dominated. 21st century, enlightenment struggles to be inclusive. We see change in our world and a shift in human consciousness. Women, minorities, sexual orientation and their human rights are front and center on the world stage. My series, Enlightenment, is both anonymous and whimsical while portraying the human experience as provocative, peaceful, sensual, androgynous, silly, elegant, strong, controversial, stereotypical amongst an endless list of the adjectives we use to celebrate, respect, deny or shame individuality.
