8 seconds
The images are taken in Brazil, in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, in the north part near the border with the state of Bahia and Goias. Between october 2015 and april 2016 I followed a group of 4 men from the same city, Unaì, that share the same passion for rodeo.
These cowboys during the week have a job as taxi driver, mechanic, farmers, and during the weekend they organize meeting to train with wild bulls and they travel to participate in as many rodeos as possible.
A rodeo for them is not about the money they can win, but it’s about the challenge to face the wild animal for 8 seconds.
It’s dangerous, the adrenaline sometimes is controlled with cachaça, but for 8 seconds they have the feeling to be invincible and prevail upon the chaos of their life.
