Covid Triptychs

Covid Walks _ a personal project _ photographs taken on exercise walks from my home in North London.

These images are a view of the pandemic from the street _ I have photographed the details that have appeared and have or will disappear _ the chalk drawings made by children showing their artistry and concerns _ their closed play grounds _ the graffiti, social, political and humorous that has appeared _ the hastily made signs and markings made by shop keepers to keep people safe and socially distanced _ the blue lights of the ambulances rushing through the streets _ the rainbow balloons put up to show support for the doctors, nurses and support workers in the National Health Service (these as you see gradually deflated over the weeks) _ the final image is of dusk on Hampstead Heath _ walks on the Heath have provided the perfect counterbalance to the the chaos, tragedy and loss experienced by many in this part of London.

I've taken a very graphic approach to the project by producing a triptych for each images _ this was obviously essential for the balloons
but I hope it helps to show the richness and the chaos present at this extraordinary time.
