A Vanitas a day

Not a photographic work on the emergency but created thanks to the emergency, that allowed me to find the time for this project and made tangible the vanity of worldly goods.

Vanitas: has always fascinated me for the binomial life/death treated with lightheartedness and for the apotropaic use of the images. I have created these still lifes using my son's childhood toys, objects that are still close to me; then arranged them taking as a starting point "Les Vanités", the 1990 catalogue of the exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen in France. They are not meant as literal recreations of these paintings, but rather freely inspired by them.
