What's next?
A photographic reflection of the feelings of these uncertain times.
-Since last weeks of February and the first weeks of March 2020, the Coronavirus pandemic has spread throughout the world.
The Italian government, on March 9th, followed by other European countries and the U.S, ordered the shutting down of bars, restaurants and almost all public offices with the aim of avoiding contact between people and trying to reduce the spread of the virus.
Furthermore, authorities required all citizens to stay at home, asking them to leave their houses only to buy food and get medical supplies.
The measures to contain the epidemic have changed people’s way of life.
In May after two months of lockdown, cities started their economic activities again, with many concerns about the spread of the virus.
In fact, at the end of the Summer season the curve of infections increased sharply.
Today the situation in many European countries is the same as last March: overcrowded hospitals and many countries back in lockdown.
Even if the firsts doses of the vaccine are beginning to be distributed, we are all still living in uncertainty.
The current situation makes you wonder what the future holds: is the virus back or has it never left us? Are we now safe? When will we finally see the end of it? No one knows what will happen next.
-The aim of this series of portraits is to reflect the feelings of these uncertain times. No context is needed. In the future, looking at these pictures everybody will remember what humanity has gone through.
