Covid in Bishkek
When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in March 2020, O. and her friends decided to help their compatriots. They began buying food for the poorest patients and cooking meals for the doctors. In July, as cases multiplied the volunteers, equipped with hazmat suits ensured the transport of patients in a vehicle fitted with respirators and oxygen tanks free of charge.
When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in March 2020, O., a former tourist guide, decided to help her compatriots. She formed a group of ten volunteers (without medical training) and began buying food for the poorest patients and cooking meals for the doctors working in the hospitals. In July, as cases of Covid-19 multiplied and ambulances could no longer keep pace, the volunteers, equipped with the appropriate protective equipment, ensured the transport of patients in a vehicle fitted with respirators and oxygen tanks free of charge.
