IT ENDS WITH LOVE

A volunteer team has stepped forward and conducting funerals and burials of Covid-19 victims with dignity and love while even many family members have refused to attend the funerals in fear of getting infected.

COVID-19 has had an unprecedented effect on people all around the world and Bangladesh is no exception. Since the virus was first reported in the country, many people already have died of the disease. In Bangladesh testing positive for the corona virus carries a great stigma and many families even refuse to disclose the identity of family members who test positive. Family members and relatives of those who pass away from Covid-19 do not even attend the funerals for the fear of being infected. Al markazul islami is a volunteer team who has stepped forward in this situation and conducting funerals and burials of Covid-19 victims with dignity and love. Volunteers collect bodies of victims from home and hospitals and perform the final rites of the dead including bathing of bodies, dressing them in shrouds, and offering funeral prayers all free of cost. To undertake this noble cause this team of volunteers have been keeping themselves away from their family for months and risking their lives to provide burials for the people with honor.
