Postcards from Italy
A journey in Italy during the lockdown
Italy was the first western state to face the Coronavirus outbreak and the first to lock down the entire country.
Stuck in my home, I started to take pictures of all the webcams across Italy that I found on the Internet. The purpose was to remember this tragic situation and to have permanent documentation of all corners of my country, as a memento to the future, to remember that period of our life.
The post-production of the pictures is strong, like old postcards, and with the inclination of my camera, I give blur in some points of the pictures. The intent was to give the photos a distorted and surreal atmosphere, like the particular moment we all were in.
"Postcards from Italy" is my particular moment of introspection of two months that changed the life of 60 million Italians.
