L'APE - The theater flies in the street

Here appears in this era of social isolation and psychological confusion, a message of trust, as a traveling theatrical representation through a simple Apecar. The theater takes to the street giving a pinch of joy and hope. Arlecchino and Balanzone, two archetypes of Italian theater, are the protagonists of the representation. They embody the will to continue to exist, as masks and actors, despite the closure of theaters and the lack of an audience. They move and land around the cities with their Ape, an iconic vehicle, which represents the restart of the Italian post-war period, bringing us back to ancient flavors of life and to the street as a place of meeting and exchange. But the bee is also a pollinating insect, essential for maintaining biodiversity, the combination of theater and culture in general with such a useful animal is so significant, reminding us that culture is not an accessory.

In the most difficult moments of our existence, when the personal center of gravity fluctuates, sometimes a prodigious illumination occurs that reverses the situation. Instead of choosing to overwhelm the spirit, the intellect chooses the alternative, a new face.

And here appears in this era of social isolation and psychological confusion, a message of trust, even of celebration, in the guise of traveling theatrical show through a simple Apecar. The theater goes into the squares, in the suburbs, it insinuates itself in the people in an unexpected way and upsets the common sadness, giving a touch of joy and hope.

An important project is the ApeTeatrale, supported by the Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, whose creators and protagonists are the two professional actors, Marco Brinzi from Lucca and Caterina Simonelli from Viareggio, creator of the IfPrana theater company, friends, full of passion, determined to convey positive values.

Arlecchino and Balanzone, two archetypes of Italian theater, are the protagonists of the show. They embody the will to continue existing, as masks and actors, despite the closure of theaters and the lack of a united audience, possessed by the fear of "re-existence" in such a complex moment for humanity. They move and pose for the cities with their Ape, an iconic vehicle, which represents the resumption of the Italian post-war period, bringing us back to the ancient flavors of life and to the street as a place of meeting and exchange. But the bee (In Italian language Ape means bee) is also a pollinating insect, essential for maintaining biodiversity, so significant is the combination of theater and culture in general with such a useful animal, reminding us that culture is not an ancillary good.

Behind so much passion there is commitment, work, effort. It is a path that requires reflection, looking at people without filters, with frank eyes, is made up of many small steps that each time bring back not only the masked and psychological dualism of the characters and ourselves, but also the ability to build, solve practical blocks, always find the impulse to cheer others up, even if you are not really in top shape. A commitment that arouses tenderness and admiration, highlights perseverance even in its most pragmatic features, often ignored details, elusive moments that to those who really want to see appear full of meaning that goes beyond the ephemeral. Never give up, the mission is more important than the effort.

But it is above all the celebration of a generous, optimistic and flexible approach that invites us to remember who we are and our origins from ancestral generations that have bequeathed us pillars of knowledge and a seed of resilience.
