Corona "Risk Group"

Portraits of old people in corona isolation. From the beginning of the Corona pandemic, there was recognition in Germany that older people were particularly at risk from the virus.

From the beginning of the Corona pandemic, there was recognition in Germany that older people were particularly at risk from the virus. This is because the mortality rate among those infected with Sars-CoV-2 over 80 years old is about 20 to 25 percent. Elderly people are strongly advised to stay at home and avoid social contact if possible. Homes for the elderly are quarantined and often closed to visitors. Contact with relatives is usually limited to phone calls or social media, if it can be used. Because of this loneliness and isolation of an entire population group in times of pandemic, this portrait series "Risk Group" was created. In the process, I sought out the seniors photographed in my immediate surroundings and relatives and was able to recruit them for my project.
