The Street Tenants

Turning into a homeless can be quick, like stumbling, tripping over into a misfortune.

“Homeless” is an ugly word, I like to see them as the “Street Tenants”.

Many of them went through drug issues and jail, haven’t had a proper home for a while; the women in the street are predominantly widows that lost their man and run a desperate life for way too long.

It’s an incredible side-world, unconceivable, indescribable if you don’t get the chance to talk to them and get to know them.

Some of them agreed to be photographed, others didn’t, and this is how I understood that there also are fake “homeless”: people that ask money just because it’s easier than looking for a proper job, and they spend that money playing at cash machines, for alcohol or smoke, or maybe they’re drug dealers that want to pass unnoticed.

Will they find an exit from this spiral?
