Project Info

Sunday afternoon

Some stories start with coffee and some others with a final sentence: "I have MS."

Some of you may wonder, "What is multiple sclerosis?", in short it is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system which causes are unknown and still has no cure. It is not contagious nor hereditary, nor mortal but is the second leading cause of neurological disability in young adults and in Spain (where the project is taking place) affects about 47,000 people. Mostly diagnosed in young people between 20 and 30 years at the beginning of their life and professional projects… and occurs more often in women than in men (70% women). And yet is considered a rare and unknown disease.

A disease that is also known as the disease of the thousand faces: this is one of his portraits.

A daily life portraitof a person with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis with photographs taken throughout 2015 and 2016 in Barcelona (where we live) and Segovia (hometown of Rebeca and where she has to go to visit his neurologist).
